REACH JUVENILE DIVERSION PROGRAM What is REACH? The REACH Diversion Program was formed in 2002 as a result of work by a task force consisting of county representatives from Juvenile Court Justice, private mental health providers, three school districts, Family Resource Center, Wyandot County Sheriff's office, Upper Sandusky and Carey Police Departments, Job and Family Services, a county commissioner, Family and Children First Council, and private citizens. The REACH Program attempts to divert, or channel out, youth offenders from the Juvenile Justice System. REACH provides a broad-based comprehensive, alternative approach to at-risk juveniles, and juveniles and their families are extended an opportunity to address inappropriate behaviors and build resiliency skills. REACH Program participants and their parents are expected to sign a program compliance contract that requires the client to attend school regularly, complete school assignments, maintain acceptable behavior, and improve their grades. Program data Since it's inception in 2002 the Wyandot County REACH Diversion Program has graduated and successfully diverted 35 youth from the Wyandot County Juvenile Court system.
